Newz Fast, New Delhi Harry Brook: England's middle order batsman Harry Brook has withdrawn from the 2024 season of IPL starting from March 22, citing personal reasons. Harry Brook was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 4 crore in the Dubai auction last year. 

After Jason Roy, Harry Brook is the second England player to withdraw from IPL 2024 due to personal reasons. In a Cricbuzz report, it was told that the IPL franchise is angry with the England players withdrawing in this manner citing personal reasons. It is also mentioned that such a sudden withdrawal disrupts the auction plans of various teams.

Why did Harry Brook withdraw his name from IPL 2024?

Harry Brook himself has now revealed why he has withdrawn his name from the 2024 season of IPL. Harry Brook has told that recently his grandmother passed away, after which he wants to spend as much time as possible with his family. 

Releasing a post on his Instagram account, Harry Brook wrote, 'I have taken a very difficult decision not to play in the upcoming IPL. I was very excited to play for Delhi Capitals. 

I don't think I should feel the need to share my personal reasons, but many people will be curious to know why this is happening. That's why I'm sharing the post.

Harry Brook further wrote, 'I lost my grandmother last month. She was a rock for me. I have spent a lot of time with him since childhood. Whenever I was at home, hardly a day passed in which I did not meet him. 

I am happy that my grandmother was able to see me playing cricket for England. IPL franchises are discussing this issue with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
