Newz Fast, New Delhi: UP Winter Update: The winter season in UP is now changing.The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert that there will be very dense fog in some districts of the state for the next two days.

Apart from this, there are chances of light to moderate rain or thundershowers at various places in the state on 31st December, 1st and 2nd January. This rain will be due to a western disturbance affecting the north-western areas of the country. 

The districts where warning of dense fog has been issued during the next two days are - Banda, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Meerut, 

Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Badaun, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur and surrounding areas.Apart from this, orange alert has been issued for dense fog in Kaushambi, 

Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Barabanki, Amethi, Ayodhya, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit and surrounding areas. 

During the last 24 hours, the lowest night temperature in the state was recorded at 5.2 degrees Celsius in Hamirpur. After Hamirpur, Kanpur's night was the coldest in the state.

The city remained covered with a blanket of fog even on Wednesday.A drop in temperature was recorded. After Hamirpur (5.2 degrees), Kanpur (6.8 degrees Celsius) had the coldest night in the state.Kushinagar is also at second place in the state.

Then Bijnor is at 7.6, Meerut at 8.6 and Moradabad at 8.8 degrees Celsius.The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of fog in Kanpur.Fog may become denser in the next 48 hours.Cold will also increase. 

Visibility remained only 700 meters

According to Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA), the visibility was only 700 meters at 5 am.

There has not been such dense fog in the last three years.Winds have started coming from the mountains to the plains.Its speed was very low but it increased the cold due to being snowy.

People are also facing melting.After 10 o'clock during the day, the wind speed was 08-10 km per hour but at night this speed became very slow.Despite this, the effect of cold remained. 

Chances of rain on New Year

There are chances of rain on New Year.Dr. SN Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA), said that IMD has issued a red alert of fog for the next 24 hours.

Orange alert on 29th, less in Kanpur on 30th and 31st but there will be yellow alert nearby.

A cyclonic circulation is over Bangladesh and surrounding areas.The western disturbance is over northern Iran and adjacent parts of Afghanistan.Many circulations remain in the Bay of Bengal.

This moisture is spreading from Terai region to Rajasthan.Due to this the fog is increasing. After 10 o'clock in the day, strong north-westerly winds will blow, which will increase the cold.

There will be less sunlight due to which the day will become colder and the temperature will drop.

The department has advised people to come out of their homes only for essential work when there is dense fog in the morning and evening.
